“Action in Inaction”
Theatre Action for Peace

Please join The Faux-Real Theatre Company on Sunday, July 29 at 1:00 PM to participate in its presentation of the play ACTION IN INACTION, an historic opportunity to exercise your freedom of artistic expression towards a more peaceful world.

The Faux-Real Theatre Company--as part of its participation in Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Park's 365 DAYS/365 PLAYS in association with The Public Theater--seeks at least 365 actors, directors, playwrights, performers, artists of all mediums, concerned citizens and their families and friends to participate in a theatrical act of conscience to express our desire to see an end to the war in Iraq and an end to all wars, and to affirm our ongoing commitment to peace.  This concern for peace drives our interpretation of Suzan-Lori Park's play ACTION IN INACTION.

ACTION IN INACTION will be staged as a peaceful demonstration outdoors with 365 participants walking in a single-file procession along four blocks around Washington Square Park and will culminate in a two-minute frozen tableau incorporating all 365 participants.  The entire event will last approximately one hour.

To reserve your spot for this landmark theatrical happening, simply email
the name of each participant to action@fauxreal.org

We will assemble at Judson Memorial Church on Sunday, July 29 at 1 pm sharp.  Judson is located at 55 Washington Square South between Thompson and Sullivan Streets. Directions available at

Please dress in mourning. Your mourning outfit may be as simple or as elaborate as you wish.

Please note: There is no pay and no fee to participate in this activity.  Political demonstration law permits peaceful protest activity on New York City sidewalks. This activity will not block pedestrian passage on sidewalks and will not block building entrances.
